“treasure the farmer, nurture the soil,

plant wherever you are, learn from nature,

cultivate your plate, make your own,

eat whole foods, share the harvest,

teach children the art of simple food.”

-Alice Waters

I read this quote in a book Casey gave me for Christmas, and I immediately knew I needed to print this and read it every day. The words resonated in my heart and how I wanted to raise Thatcher and Vivi.

I have an enormous passion for the art of eating seasonally. To make the best dishes, you must start with the best ingredients, and the best ingredients are freshly-picked. A love for gardening is one thing that brought Casey and me together. The feeling of picking dinner fresh from the garden is hard to beat. Sourcing from local farmers is the next best thing!

At the Riggs Ranch, I joke about the saying (from Full House) "It's always open" because our door is always revolving with friends, family, and guests! Casey and I love to host and seem always to have people over (pre-quarantine, of course). To me, living an inviting life is merely creating a world within your home, where cooking, making a home, and entertaining are engaging, uplifting, meaningful, and valued. I believe the best memories are made in your home around the dinner table, sharing a meal. I hope to empower you to live an inviting life, stress-free, by sharing my simple tips and tricks.

I believe in making your home a space that you and your family absolutely love! Where you will genuinely relate to the saying, "there is no place like home." Casey and I joke that we never need to leave, because we love our home so much, and miss it terribly when we leave! For us, the outsides spaces are as important as inside the walls of the house. I love sharing ways we are transforming the Riggs Ranch over the years into our dream!

I am very grateful for each one of you who message me, follow along, and engage with the content I share. I do hope someday we get a chance to dine together at my table.
